Ex-Kotoko striker Adu Amofah has launched an organisation to give back to society

Former Kumasi Asante Kotoko striker Mark Adu Amofah has established AA Sports International, a non-profit sports organisation in Accra.

On Wednesday, June 21, 2023, the event was held at the Alisa Hotel.

It was themed “Sports Equality for All Children,” with an emphasis on life beyond football and sports linked with education.

A.A Sports International takes pride in being an organisation with the main goal of improving lives through sports by offering equal grounds for both genders, regardless of background.

Amofah emphasised the significance of giving back to society and expressed delight about the organization’s start, noting that additional programmes will be launched in the following weeks.

“I have dreamed of this day. I have been wanting this for some time and finally, we have done it. It’s very important.

Going forward, you should expect more programmes from A. A Sports International.

Coming weeks, we will roll out some of the programmes.” He said.

Mark Amofah, who played for the defunct Real Sportive and Liberty Professionals, retired from football in 2014 following spells in South Africa, Thailand, Bahrain, and Israel.

The former Black Meteors player emphasised his organization’s previous charity initiatives, such as gifting equipment and uniforms to schools and teams.

“We have done a couple of charities and we are looking forward to doing more in the coming weeks.

We have donated a lot of equipment and kits to schools and teams. We are here to do more.”

Several dignitaries, including former Ghana Football Association Vice President Fred Pappoe, GHALCA Chairman Kudjoe Fianoo, and officials from numerous football organisations and clubs, attended the media launch.
