Kwesi Appiah calls on Ghanaians to support the 13th African Games

Former Black Stars head coach James Kwesi Appiah has urged Ghanaians to support the next African Games in March 2024.

Ghana will be the focus of attention next year when it hosts the 13th edition of the Africa Games.

Despite playing an important part since the event’s beginning, Ghana will be hosting the continent for the first time.

The 62-year-old head coach guided Ghana’s Black Meteors to gold in the 2011 African Games in Maputo, Mozambique.

After a 1-1 deadlock in normal and extra time, the squad defeated South Africa 4-2 on penalties.

Speaking to the Africa Games media team, Kwesi Appiah, we as a country must play a significant part in creating hype around the games.

“I want to tell Ghanaians that they need to patronize the Games.

When the Games are going on and there are no spectators the Games become dull.

The media must also get involved and hype the Games so that by the time the Games get here everybody’s interest will be in the Games so that Ghanaians will know that there is going to be a competition,” he stated.
