Because of their quality, new Bechem United coach Bismark Kobi Kyei believes it is a smart approach to begin with the core of the club who worked with former coach Kassim Mingle.
Mingle, who left the Hunters to join the new Ghana Premier League team Nations FC, was replaced by the former Karela United boss.
On the other hand, Kobi Mensah captained Great Olympics last season and helped the two-time Ghana Premier League winners avoid relegation.
The young manager is expected to build on the promising Bechem United, which finished third last season, due to his pedigree in Ghana football, particularly with Karela United, where he led the team to a top-four finish while remaining undefeated at the Crosby Awuah Memorial Park during the 2021/22 season.
“I am happy about the fact that we [Kassim Mingle and Kobi Mensah] have similarities in our style of coaching. I am also fortunate to have inherited the good players Kassim Mingle worked with,” he told Onua Sports.
“I have also been told that the club is not ready to accept any offer for any of their players unless it comes from a foreign club. Thus I will most likely have the core of the team to build on,” he added.
Kobi Kyei is anticipated to be in Bechem by the end of the week to begin preseason training for the next season.
He will evaluate the present squad and give recommendations to the authorities in order to improve an already attractive team.
