Kurt Okraku, President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), has formally submitted his re-election nomination.
Okraku was received with tremendous support from his followers as he arrived to the GFA Secretariat on the final day for nominations.
Okraku’s first victory as GFA President occurred in October 2019, when he defeated challengers such as George Afriyie and four other contenders.
Speaking to the press after submitting his nomination for the coveted GFA job, Okraku revealed his unwavering commitment to taking Ghanaian football to unparalleled heights.
“Ghana football has suffered, Ghana football has struggled but is currently on the rise,” Okraku stated, “and I can assure you that, Ghana football is currently in safe hands, and I am that person.”
Okraku stressed his willingness to absorb views from fellow football administrators, regardless of allegiance, as part of his unwavering dedication to encouraging improvement. “Most administrators trust in my vision, and we need to work together to achieve that higher height,” he said of his collaborative approach. My arms are open to new ideas to improve our football.”
He clarified his decision on social media, writing, “Following the constitutional requirement of our football regulations, I have successfully filed my nomination to run for a second term in office.” Good luck to me, #GameChanger, as I continue to fight to change the game.”
Okraku’s desire to lead the GFA again indicates his desire to shepherd Ghanaian football towards a future of prosperity and togetherness.
The Elective Congress for this year is slated for September 27 in Tamale.
