Nkawkaw MP speaks out about the stadium converted into a maize plantation

Joseph Frimpong, Member of Parliament (MP) for the Nkawkaw constituency, has spoken out against the recent issue surrounding the Nkawkaw sports stadium, which has been transformed into a corn farm.

According to Adom News, the once-vibrant stadium has been abandoned for years and adapted for agricultural use, causing great alarm among residents.

In response to the matter, the MP stated that the planting of corn on a piece of the stadium was not news to him, but that the genuine news was the regrettable cancellation of the stadium’s development project.

He said that his office has finalised paperwork with the Middle Belt Development Authority in order to resuscitate and restore the stadium to its former splendour.

Mr Frimpong went on to say that the only thing standing in the way was obtaining budgetary approval from the Ministry of Finance. He reassured the people of Kwawu, notably the Okwawu United football team supporters, that the appropriate efforts were being made to accelerate the process.

The MP pledged to see the project through to completion, reinforcing the stadium’s importance as a hub for sports and community events.
