Former WAFA midfielder Michael Kyei Dwamena has completed his transfer to Asante Kotoko during the current transfer window, the club has confirmed.
The 23-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to the prestigious club during the current transfer window, and he has finally completed his move to the Porcupines.
Dwamena stands tall with skill and has repeatedly demonstrated exceptional abilities while playing for the Academy Boys. His outstanding efforts the previous season drew substantial notice, generating interest from a number of top-tier teams around the country.
A club state reads “Asante Kotoko is delighted to confirm the signing of defensive midfielder Micheal Dwamena Kyei from WAFA after completing his mandatory medical examination on Saturday”.
The former WAFA captain began his career with WA Suntaa before spending three seasons at the Sogakope Arena, where he made 26 appearances for the division one side and recorded four assists last season.
Dwamena is known for his superb game reading, ability to break off opponents’ assaults, and impressive pass distribution. Preseason training for Asante Kotoko is now happening at Beposo. The squad has already played friendly games against Kharis Academy and Cornerstones, and two more games are scheduled for Wednesday.
This thorough preparation under the direction of the team’s coach, Prosper Nartey, and his squad is aimed at building togetherness and readiness for the forthcoming 2023/24 season, which is expected to begin in a few weeks.
