Asante Kotoko Ugandan import, Steven Dese Mukwala has outlined two major factors that hindered him from giving out his best in the Ghana Premier League last season.
Food has been a huge difficulty for the former Uganda Revenue Authority SC striker owing to the fact that Ghanaian meals are produced with a lot of pepper, which is extremely different in his own country, despite the fact that it is in Africa.
“The only challenge I face in Ghana is basically from the food point – the ‘pepper’ because I don’t take pepper so that is really a challenge,” he told the club’s media.
The Ugandan international said that the weather variations also contributed to his underwhelming performance in the 2021/22 season, in which he scored 13 goals across all competitions.
“On climate, the sun is too scorchy in Ghana but this season, I am ready for everything and ready for the challenge”
However, he was quick to add that the next season will be scripted differently and advised the porcupine warriors’ adoring followers to remain positive ahead of the season.
“I will do better than I did last season and improve on myself and everything so to ensure that this season becomes a better for me and Kotoko,” he concluded.
The 2023–24 Ghana Premier League is scheduled to begin on September 15th as the 18 teams prepare to clinch the coveted trophy and represent Ghana on the continent.
