Allotey Jacobs attacks NDC over Bawumia

But, given the overwhelming support he received from NPP loyalists, Members of Parliament (MPs), and government appointees, Dr. Bawumia's performance to the NDC is embarrassing. In response, Allotey Jacobs chastised the NDC for attacking the procedure, which he says was similar to what the NDC did in May. Dr. Bawumia's triumph, he says, was not only historic but also spectacular. "Call it 61 percent; 61% can equal 95 percent." You ambush, rush, and rig your system to favour one person, then return and declare a clear instance of the actual election process in which someone receives 61 percent embarrassing? "This is just political bluster," he stated on Accra's Peace FM.

Bernard Allotey Jacobs, a former Central Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has slammed the party over Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.

Following Dr Bawumia’s election as the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) flagbearer, the NDC has slammed the process, claiming injustice and biased actions in his favour.

After polling 61.4% of the total vote cast last Saturday, he defeated Assin Central MP Kennedy Agyapong, former Agriculture Minister Dr Osei Afriyie Akoto, and former Mampong MP Francis Addai-Nimoh.
