Berekum Chelsea’s excellent centre-back, Henry Kwame Ansu, is on the verge of joining Asante Kotoko after the two teams established a verbal agreement.
Henry Ansu, who has been a key member of Berekum Chelsea’s defence for the past two years, has piqued the interest of Asante Kotoko, who feel his inclusion in their team would considerably improve their hopes in the local league and maybe gain a berth in African tournaments.
During the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League season, the 24-year-old defender stood out as one of Berekum Chelsea’s key players, impressing Dr Ogum, the head of Asante Kotoko, who believes that Ansu’s presence in their defence will boost their chances of competing for domestic titles this year.
Following the agreement between the two clubs, Henry Ansu is expected to discuss personal terms with Asante Kotoko before travelling to Kumasi for medical checks, following which the move would be officially announced.
Notably, Ansu was a member of the Black Galaxies squad that advanced to the quarterfinals of the 2022 CHAN competition in Algeria.
Henry Ansu is expected to sign a three-year contract with Asante Kotoko, marking a huge step forward in his promising football career.
