A joint committee of the House of Representatives has summoned Azeez Fashola, also known as Naira Marley, to testify about the late Afrobeat artist, Ilerioluwa Aloba, alias Mohbad’s royalties.
The joint committee, which includes the committees on Youth, Justice, and Legislative Compliance, has requested Naira Marley and the late singer’s legal team to testify before it on October 31.
Yusuf Ibrahim, the Committee’s clerk, signed the letter of invitation on October 26.
Mohbad, a former signee of Naira Marley’s record company, died on September 12 at the age of 27 under mysterious circumstances.
Naira Marley has also been accused of bullying or ordering the late singer’s harassment; however, authorities have found additional individuals in connection with the late singer’s murder.
He handed himself into police earlier this month and was taken into jail for questioning and other investigation actions.
According to PREMIUM TIMES, the House agreed to investigate the singer’s death after a motion by Babajimi Benson (APC, Lagos).
The Committee’s mandate was to ensure that the late singer’s family received all of the rights to his works.
