Asante Kotoko has announced the acquisition of Berekum Chelsea defender Ansu Henry to bolster the team’s defence following a disappointing 2022–23 season.
After signing a deal with the club, Henry will stay with the Porcupine Warriors for the next two seasons.
The Berekum-based club’s centre-back has been a regular for the previous three seasons, recording 18 appearances in his most recent campaign.
Last season, the 24-year-old was selected man-of-the-match twice, and he is considered one of Ghana’s most seasoned and dependable centre-backs.

“It’s a dream come true because this is a club that most players dream of as a young player, and I am happy to be one of the lucky few,” he says.
Head coach Prosper Narteh Ogum will rely on his expertise to settle the backline, and he is looking forward to the task.
“It’s a new challenge, and I know this is a club that demands more from players, but I am ready to make a mark and help the team win whatever trophy available,” he stated.
Henry has joined his teammates for preseason as the porcupine warriors get ready for the next season.
