Asante Kotoko Sporting Club has formed a strategic alliance with Women’s Premier League newcomers Kumasi Sports Academy Ladies FC, who will now act as the official women’s squad for the 2019 season.
This agreement bestows Kumasi Sports Academy Ladies the prestigious distinction of Asante Kotoko Sporting Club’s designated women’s football team, fulfilling the requirements for club licencing.
After being demoted the previous two seasons, Kumasi Sports Academy has made an amazing comeback to the highest levels of women’s football. Their comeback was fueled by a dominant performance in the Northern Zone playoffs.
Kumasi Sports Academy finished as deserved runners-up, just trailing Fosu Royal Ladies of Techiman, securing a coveted position in the 2018 Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League for the 2019 season.
