Asante Kotoko Sporting Club has officially confirmed the signing of 19-year-old defender Yahaya Dawuni during the current transfer window.
Following his outstanding performance with Susubiribi Football Club in the Access Bank Division One League, the Porcupine Warriors began negotiations to recruit the kid.
Dawuni was on the radar of Premier League side Bibiani Gold Stars, but will instead play in Ghana’s top division for the GPL record winners.
The Reds hope to add to their team before the Premier League transfer market ends.
According to sources, the club is willing to sell eleven players, including Mohammed Alhassan and Maxwell Agyemang, but will make some important acquisitions to resurrect their fortunes under new manager Prosper Narteh Ogum after failing to defend the Ghana Premier League title.
The squad will begin preparations for the forthcoming season tomorrow at Beposo, Ashanti Region.
