Reports: Hearts of Oak to announce former Esperance manager Nabil Maaloul as new head coach

According to Opoku Afriyie (Pkay), Hearts of Oak are on the verge of hiring Tunisian manager Nabil Maaloul as their next head coach, following David Ocloo.

According to reliable sources, the appointment is being made on the advice of the club’s technical director, Rene Hiddink.

Nabil Maaloul, a well-known personality in African football, is expected to sign a long-term contract with Ghana’s MTN FA Cup champions. He is regarded by the club’s management and board as the appropriate leader for their ambitious initiative.

Maaloul, who is 60 years old, has made important contributions to African football during his coaching career. Notably, he won a treble with ES De Tunis in 2011, winning the Tunisia League, the Tunisia Cup, and the CAF Champions League.

His coaching abilities extended to Kuwait, where he led Kuwait SC to Premier League and Emir Cup victories during the 2021/22 season. In addition, he and EL Jaish won the Qatar Cup in 2014.

During his travel to Ghana this week, Nabil Maaloul is scheduled to complete the required legalities. Following that, he will take over the team from Rene Hiddink, taking over preseason training.
