Kotoko's Adako Jachie Complex to be rebuilt by Asantehene

Asante Kotoko’s owner, Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has vowed to renovate the Adako Jachie Complex, which serves as the club’s training facility.

The complex’s current state does not reach the standards required of a club of Kotoko’s prominence, and the King is keen to develop it into a facility worthy of one of Africa’s best teams.

Christopher Damenya, Chairman of the National Circles Council (NCC), revealed that the King promised to visit the Adako Jachie Complex on Friday when they visited him alongside former players to review the club’s present position. True to his promise, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II inspected the facilities and learned about the club’s issues.

In return, the Asantehene pledged to renovate and upgrade the Adako Jachie Complex’s amenities. Representatives from the club showed him around the property, explaining the refurbishment plans and soliciting support for the project.

“We took Him around and exposed our challenges to Him,” Christopher Damenya stated during an interview on Akoma 87.9 FM. “He (Otumfuo) promised to rebuild the AJ project and make it more befitting, so He has taken the architectural design, very soon we will all witness the Adako Jachie project from a different perspective.”

Meanwhile, Asante Kotoko’s interim management committee has been established by Otumfuo Osei Tutu II to supervise the club’s business while the club’s administration is reorganised.

They are Nana Apinkra Akwasi Awua, Kontomponiaferehene and chartered accountant, former Black Stars coach Kwesi Appiah, Dr Prosper Narteh Ogum, and Emmanuel Dasoberi.
