Yeji: 62-year-old fetish priest murders his 25-year-old wife on suspicion of infidelity
Solomon Mbalegon, 62, a fetish priest, is accused of murdering his 25-year-old junior wife, Madam Nakoli Mbalegon, and then committing suicide over suspicion of adultery.
Mr Mbalegon, also known as ‘Okomfo’ Solomon, is accused of murdering Mad. Mbalegon on Thursday night at their house in Parambo, a neighbourhood of Yeji in the Pru East District of the Bono East Region.
Mr. Yussif Sulemana, the Assemblyman for the region who verified the event to the Ghana News Agency (GNA), stated that Mr. Mbalegon accused his wife of having adulterous affairs with other males in the neighbourhood.
According to him, there was a misunderstanding between them, and as a result, the male stabbed the woman to death before committing suicide by stabbing himself.
Mr Sulemana stated that the occurrence caused shock and dismay in the community since they did not anticipate Mr Mbalegon to perform such a “heinous act.”
To avoid the loss of life, he recommended the locals use caution while addressing and dealing with marital difficulties of this sort.
Mr Sulemana went on to say that the Yeji Police had detained a suspect in connection with the murder to help with investigations and that the remains had been put to the St. Mathias Catholic Hospital in Yeji for preservation.
An anonymous source at the Yeji Police Station verified the event to the GNA, indicating that it was being investigated.
