Following the delay of the issue involving the club side, King Faisal, and the football regulatory body, the 2023 Ghana Football Association election process remains stalled.
The case has been rescheduled until September 6th.
There was no planned court session on Wednesday, August 30th.
As a consequence, both sides’ legal representatives agreed to reschedule the meeting to resolve their concerns.
The demoted Ghana Premier League team, King Faisal, asks the GFA to cancel the presidential election slated for September 27 in Tamale.
They want this constraint to last until elections for National League teams, Regional Football Associations, and affiliated entities are finished.
Furthermore, King Faisal wishes to proclaim that no legal Congress may be held to elect the President until new members of the Executive Council (Exco) are officially elected.
Furthermore, the Kumasi-based club is seeking a ruling that allowing nominations for the election of a new GFA President before elections for Exco representatives is both erroneous and illegal.
Furthermore, Alhaji Karim Grusah’s club seeks a declaration that any decision purportedly passed by the existing Exco membership about the election of a new GFA President before representatives are chosen for the Exco is a breach of trust, confidence, and loyalty.
Kurt Okraku, the current GFA President, will be challenged for the top post in the next election by George Afriyie, the association’s former Vice President.
The screening of aspirants at the Alisa Hotel delayed the electoral process.
