Adeiso: Police shoot mentally ill man after murdering his grandmother

The Ghana Police Service’s Upper West Akim Police Command shot dead a 35-year-old mentally challenged man suspected of murdering his 94-year-old grandmother at Domponiase in the Eastern Region’s Upper West Akim District.

According to witnesses, the suspect, identified as Paa Kwesi, was chained in a prayer camp near Adeiso before fleeing home on Sunday, August 20 to conduct the horrible murder.

He managed to free himself from the chain at the Prayer Camp and ran to his family’s home.

When he arrived at the premises, he murdered the elderly grandmother, Yaa Ameyawo, and attempted to assault his cousin, Agbesi, who was attempting to save the elderly grandmother.

The cops were brought in to intervene.

When they arrived, the suspect turned the attack on them.

However, the cops replied with a pistol and shot him in the leg, killing him.

The remains were then placed to the Nsawam Government Hospital.

The victim’s injured relative is also receiving medical attention at the same clinic.
