Dr Kwame Kyei finally responds to Asante Kotoko supporters vandalising his stadium in this video

The enraged supporters did not stop at flinging things; they even uprooted the seats in the away section. Dr. Kwame Kyei, the previous board chairman and proprietor of the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex, however, called for a truce and asked fans to unite. He stated that the stadium belonged to Kotoko and that the supporters had caused damage to their property. Dr. Kyei replied that he would not hold the Porcupines liable for the damages, but would pay for the damaged chairs. He also recommended followers to learn from the calamity on May 9th. As of yet, Asante Kotoko has not issued a formal statement criticising its followers' behaviour. Watch the video interview below.

In response to a disputed referee decision during their 2-2 draw with Nations FC, enraged Asante Kotoko fans took matters into their own hands on Sunday afternoon, causing damage to their portion of the Dr Kwame Kyei Sports Complex.

When the referee, Abdul Latif Qadir, gave the home team a penalty in stoppage time when Kotoko was ahead 2-1, Kotoko supporters began hurling bottles onto the pitch. The action was temporarily halted due to the supporters’ anger. Kotoko manager Prosper Ogum Narteh and numerous team officials had to intercede to calm the fans, who ultimately stopped hurling items to allow the penalty to be taken at their end of the pitch.
