U-23 AFCON: Kamaldeen Sulemana and Königsdörffer omitted from the Black Meteors team

According to Citi Sports, the Black Stars combination of Kamaldeen Sulemana and Ransford-Yeboah Königsdörffer have withdrawn from Ghana’s team ahead of the 2023 U-23 Africa Cup of Nations, which will be held in Morocco.

Due to their involvement with the Black Stars of Ghana during the 2023 AFCON qualifiers, the two players were exempted from Ibrahim Tanko’s 29-man team to begin training in Egypt ahead of the event.

After the game on Sunday, June 18, Kamaldeen Sulemana and Ransford-Yeboah Königsdörffer were supposed to meet the squad in Egypt for the tournament, but they had not arrived as of June 20.

Sulemana may reconsider his choice to represent Ghana in the U23 AFCON.

In addition, German-born Ransford-Yeboah Königsdörffer, who plays for Hamburg, will not be in Morocco.

Ernest Nuamah, who plays for FC Nordsjaelland, has apparently been observed at camp and is fitting in well. He is expected to play in the team’s second test game before the U-23 AFCON.

Ghana will begin the tournament on June 25, 2023, against Congo, then face Morocco, and conclude the group stages on June 30, 2023, against Guinea.
