Gladson Awako of Hearts of Oak denies claims of contract termination

Gladson Awako has disputed recent media rumours that he and Hearts of Oak voluntarily ended their contract.

The seasoned midfielder emphasised that he is still under contract with Hearts of Oak and that his current contract expires in 14 to 15 months.

Awako reiterated his loyalty to the Phobians and voiced his joy about heading the squad in response to the rumours.

“At the moment, I’m still a Hearts of Oak player; I have 14-15 months left.” For the time being, we do not have a coach. “A new coach may bring with him a new philosophy, but I’m excited to captain this fantastic team,” Awako said in an interview with Akoma FM.

Looking ahead to the forthcoming season, the 32-year-old guaranteed Hearts supporters that he and his colleagues will provide a better team performance. Despite injuries in the previous season, Awako is keen to create a memorable season for the team.

“All I’ll say for the time being is that I’m still a Hearts Of Oak player.” When the season begins, we, the supporters, should anticipate a new level of team performance. We will give it our all, like we always have, to make the club great again,” he continued.

Awako, who joined the team from local rivals Great Olympics, had an immediate impact, winning the FA Cup in his first season. Despite his initial success, he has failed to establish himself properly.
