Asante Kotoko captain Richard Boadu has reached an agreement with Lybian top-flight side, Al Ahly Tripoli on a permanent deal subject to medicals.
The captain, whose football career began with the youth team of the porcupine warriors, returned to the club in September 2021 and played a key part in the club’s Premier League victory in the 2021/2022 season.
Boadu was chosen team captain at the start of the 2022-2023 season after demonstrating tenacity, devotion, and great performances in his initial season with the team.
In his final season with the Club, the skipper leaves with the most tackles in the squad and the most duels won, as well as two goals, five assists, and eight man-of-the-match accolades.
Meanwhile, head coach Dr Prosper Narteh Ogum is in the transfer market to find a replacement and augment the squad ahead of the season.
