According to media sources, Asante Kotoko has successfully obtained the services of West Africa Football Academy (WAFA) captain Michael Kyei Dwamena in preparation for the forthcoming season.
The promising 23-year-old midfielder has allegedly signed a contract with the Porcupine Warriors, however, an official confirmation from the club is still waiting.
Dwamena is the club’s first acquisition after winning the Ghana Premier League last season.
The reunion of Dwamena with his old coach, Prosper Narteh Ogum, who also transfers to Kotoko following their time together at WAFA in earlier years, is a fascinating part of this deal.
Asante Kotoko needed to fill a vacancy in their midfield when captain Richard Boadu and Mudasiru Salifu left for Libya and Saudi Arabia, respectively.
With Dwamena’s signing, the team intends to strengthen their midfield and develop a powerful group capable of competing for honours next season. The dynamic midfielder is anticipated to help the Porcupine Warriors as they strive for victory in the forthcoming season.
