Ghana Premier League champions, Asante Kotoko are on the verge of singing Accra Lions goalkeeper Frederick Asare ahead of their CAF Champions League campaign.

The Porcupine Warriors are seeking to beef up the goalkeeping department ahead of the 2022/23 season as contracts of Danlad Ibrahim and Kwame Baah have run out.

According to a gravepine reports on Asempa FM’s Sportsnite show anchored by Prof. E. K. Wallace, Kotoko’s bitterest rival, Heart of Oak have also shown keen interest in snatching the shot-stopper from their rivals.

However, the Kumasi-based royal club have presented a contract to the player two weeks ago for the player to study.

The 23-year-old caught the attention of the 25 times premier league champions during the last season with his ability to initiate attack from the defence.

Asare began the season as the second-choice keeper for his Accra- based side and emerged as the first choice later in the season, keeping 13 clean sheets in 28 matches.
