Monaco has a really excellent and youthful team with a lot of potential - Mohammed Salisu

After joining the squad, Black Stars defender Mohammed Salisu noted that AS Monaco has a very excellent young team with outstanding talents.

He made the remarks during his first formal news conference since joining the French club from Southampton in the English Premier League this offseason.

Salisu spent three seasons at Southampton before joining the 2017 French Ligue 1 winners for a fee of 15 million euros. The Saints signed the 24-year-old from Real Valladolid in Spain.

After complimenting the French Ligue 1’s quality, Salisu focused on his new club’s talent and ability to finish higher than sixth place last season.

“Here there are a lot of young talents, very good players. I’m at a new club and AS Monaco is my priority. We have a very good and young team, with great qualities. So I think we have the ingredients to progress, to achieve better results than last year and achieve our goals together” he said according to AS Monaco.

Salisu appeared in all three of Ghana’s World Cup games in Qatar in 2022. He missed the latter half of the 2022–2023 season due to a knee injury, but he did appear in two Southampton preseason games.
