Police shot during a daylight heist at Ablekuma

On Thursday afternoon, an unidentified attacker assaulted and shot a police officer near Ablekuma Fanmilk in a daring heist.

According to witnesses, four armed thieves in a black car attacked a bullion van immediately after it was parked at the Star Oil Fuel Station near the ECG office in Ablekuma Fanmilk.

The criminals particularly targeted the police officers inside the vehicle during the altercation, firing rounds that killed one officer in the shoulder and abdomen.

The perpetrators and the on-duty police officers stationed at the gasoline station exchanged around 15 rounds.

Adding to the complication, the event is alleged to have occurred during maintenance time, causing all cameras to go offline.

Authorities have launched a hunt for the bullion van driver, whose present whereabouts are unknown.

Meanwhile, the injured cop has been sent to the hospital for treatment. Other cops have arrived at the crime site to collect evidence and examine the situation.
