Real Mallorca has loaned out Ghana midfielder Iddrisu Baba to Almeria

Almeria has completed the signing of Ghanaian midfielder Iddrisu Baba from Real Mallorca.

The deal, which was announced on Thursday evening through the club’s official Twitter account, is for a season-long loan with a buy option.

“Iddrisu Baba, the new UD Almera player!” said UD Almeria in a statement. The player joins on loan from RCD Mallorca, with a buy option. Welcome!”

Baba wrote, “New chapter unlocked, new beginnings. Happy to be part of this great family. let’s go ⚪️🔴@udalmeria.”

Iddrisu said his final goodbyes to RCD Mallorca on Wednesday before the transfer was officially announced. The 27-year-old midfielder joined Mallorca from Leganes’ minor squad in 2014 and made 91 appearances during his time with the club.

Notably, his playing time was limited last season, owing primarily to physical setbacks. These injuries have been a source of concern for the previous two seasons. Iddrisu Baba’s nearly decade-long affiliation with RCD Mallorca comes to an end with this transfer.

Baba hopes to make a positive effect at UD Almeria while also providing his abilities to his new team’s La Liga ambitions.

Baba, who was instrumental in Ghana’s 2022 World Cup qualification campaign, was ruled out of the tournament in Qatar due to injury.
