Medeama set to play friendly in the United States in October

Medeama will go to the United States in October for a friendly against Major League Soccer team DC United.

The match is set for October 14 at Audi Field, which DC United confirmed on Tuesday. The match ticket prices have been released and can be accessed on their official website.

“D.C. United are thrilled to bring another storied and well-followed international club to our home of Audi Field and to our local community of Washington, D.C.,” said Danita Johnson, President of Business Operations, D.C. United.

“Soccer is a global sport, and this matchup against a historic Ghanaian club like Medeama SC will help us further grow the game in our region and provide another diverse experience for our fanbase.”

The friendly match is an important part of Ghana Week DC, an event aimed at strengthening solidarity and collaboration between Ghana and the United States by establishing relationships and friendships.

Mr Akwasi Agyeman, CEO of Ghana Tourism Authority, expressed his enthusiasm, noting, “Together, we celebrate culture, forge lasting connections, and ignite a new era of international camaraderie.”

The Ghanaian champions, who are presently preparing for their CAF Champions League match against Remo Stars, are looking forward to the friendly, appreciating its potential to boost their brand and awareness on the international scene.

D.C. United, one of the MLS’s founding teams in 1996, has an amazing domestic and international trophy collection that includes four MLS Cups, four Supporters’ Shields, and three Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cups.
